COVID Changed Everything at Work

My name is Jack Rice, I am a network and telecommunication major. I also work as a system administrator for a security monitoring company.

Since COVID pandemic restrictions started last spring how we work has changed at a lightning pace over the last year and a half. Many of us work and go to school remotely. But things have changed for better or worse for many people who are still required to report in person. I would like to research how technology has changed the way we work since the pandemic started. I am very interested in the new phenomenon of fully distributed teams and companies, that have no geographic presence. I am also interested in how hospitals and healthcare providers are using technology to reduce the risk associated with COVID.

About Jack Rice

I am from Lancaster, SC, basically the Charlotte, NC area. I work as a system administrator for a security system dealer and monitoring station. I am also the father of a seven-year-old little girl, who is the core of my drive to further my education. I spend most of my free time working on various project cars and attending car shows and races with them. I also enjoy working on technology projects, 3D printing, building electronics projects, and coding.

  1. Hi Jack, I’m also pursuing a networking degree, got this semester and one more. How far along are you with getting your degree? It looks like we both have similar research ideas but are slightly different. I am interested in reading about your findings for your research topic. Welcome to group three.
