My research topic is about how website’s accessibility is impacted by usability. Meaning, in what way can websites be developed to help those with disabilities, and how do these developments help them in their lives. This is meant to study the trend of human computer interaction, programming, and web development in general. It’s meant to take a look at how programmers tackle accessibility, and how it helps those with disabilities.

I found this article by using the database Sage Premiere. I first searched in the database for “Web Development”, refined the search by using the publication date since 2014 to present, Research Articles only, and within the subject of Communication & Media Studies. Full Open Access. It 38 references, Most are related to accessibility, and multiple university website’s accessibility. I believe these will help me narrow my resources by providing a list of similarly related content to my subject area.
I then clicked on Slatin, J. M., Rush, S. (2003). Maximum accessibility: Making your web site more usable for everyone. Addison-Wesley Professional, and cross referenced it, since I felt that this information would be helpful to my subject. I found that it had been cited by at least 59 times. One of these articles was

Which is much closer to what I was looking for via Sage Premiere, and closely related to my research topic. This article discusses ways accessibility can be enhanced with multimedia. It also discusses was multimedia can be used effectively to help students with disabilities learn.

I then went back to Alim, S. (2021). Web Accessibility of the Top Research-Intensive Universities in the UK. SAGE Open. https://doi.org/10.1177/21582440211056614
Then I scrolled down to the abstract section and saw web accessibility. I clicked on it and the list of results went to 24. Then I refined it to just research articles only. This dropped the results to 21. Then I used the Social Sciences & Humanities subject to refine this even more and got to

Which was a similar article, discussing the accessibility of Hispanic-Serving websites, and the accessibility violations found during this study. While this also would be an interesting articles to read, I don’t think it’ll serve me much for my research.
