- My initial research idea was the topic of AI’s applications in science and engineering. It remains the same.
- I want to find out what the state-of-the-art technologies are. I also want to learn what the newest research papers have discovered. I plan to investigate how A.I. can be used to discover solutions for scientific problems. Another topic to investigate could be how A.I. can be used to discover effective strategies for games and puzzles.
- One paper I have found is Alphafold, a program created by Jumper, J., Evans, R., Pritzel, A. et al. (2021). This program used A.I. to predict protein folding. Another paper I found is Emergent Tool Use From Multi-Agent Autocurricula, a paper by Baker et al. (2020), about a program that simulated a game of hide and seek played by A.I.

As someone who knows mostly just the basics on AI, I found this post to be well-written and it makes sense where you’re going with your article. I like the idea so far, keep working on developing it and you’ll have a great article.

Admittedly I do not know much about A.I. I am interested to read where your research goes, especially the strategies for games and puzzles. The only suggestion I have is to decide which “scientific problems” you plan to research.
Lucas, I believe that your research topic will take you down a very interesting road, I’m intrigued to think about what you may find. In a moderately related branch, I did some research in class previously that focused on the way that AI was making the sorting process for recyclable materials more efficient, cost effective, and safe for operators. I enjoyed thinking of where that industry may go, and I’m sure you’ll find many more application where AI could have an impact. With the advances in recycling, I was encouraged to read that the infusion of Machine AI would not eliminate human jobs, but would rather create higher paying opportunities due to the technical knowledge that would be required to operate on the line. I hope this may give you some encouragement, good luck with your research.
