What Next?

Now that your research proposal is finished and you are studying for your final exam, remember your work doesn’t have to be done when class ends.

FHSU has lots of awards and opportunities for undergraduate research. This class has already helped one student win the Lynn Haggard Undergraduate Library Research Award, perhaps you will be the second Haggard award winner from this class. Or, you can pursue the outstanding scholar or biomedical research awards.

If you just want to practice presenting your ideas and getting additional accolades for your research proposal, consider submitting your proposal as empirical research for the 2023 Scholarly and Creative Activities Day.

Finally, Digital Media Journalism Majors need 12 credits of DMJ electives, and I assume the other Informatics majors also have available electives to specialize in their field as they wish. With that in mind, if the research you have proposed interests you, consider completing it as an independent study next semester or in a future semester. Planning a study out can be the hardest part. You may as well see if you can do the research, and have some very impressive research on your resume.
