Abstract
Today the innovation of technology is ever-expanding and will soon touch most if not all aspects of our lives. This includes the healthcare field. Wearable technologies with the purpose of patient monitoring are becoming a feasible alternative for people. There are hold-ups in implementing this technology like some policies around privacy and just general hesitancy from the public about deviating from traditional methods. There are three factors to look at when comparing wearable technology to traditional forms of monitoring: effectiveness, cost, and quality of life for the patient. I believe we are at a turning point now with this technology and that you could now argue that it is becoming more effective, cheaper, and delivers a better experience to the patient than prior ways of patient monitoring. Understanding and researching intrusive monitoring now is important in order to integrate this technology seamlessly and with as few challenges as possible because it will save lives.
