New Research Direction?

My search topic is related to political bias in social media. I searched the Forsyth Library starting with the database under “Technology.” I have not used this sub-category before so I thought it would bring up interesting results.

I searched “Political bias in social media.” This generated about 1500 results. I chose to refine my search by specifically using a social media company. I chose to use Facebook. This yielded about 45 results.

Database: Ebscohost

Article: Facebook: The real presidential swing state.

Citation: TALBOT, D. (2012). Facebook: The Real Presidential Swing State. Technology Review115(5), 75–77.

This article isn’t the direction I was hoping to go in regarding my research. This brought up an interesting topic regarding social media being used for political reasons (elections).

Searching the references was tough and I seemed to only be able to look into the publication. I searched the parent website listed in the references and it came up with very interesting information. The publication is from MIT. I did not realize that they were involved in journalism. They have a reputation for being very intelligent.
