Subject Term: HEALTH Information Technology

The initial search gave me almost 900 results so I had to refine it a decent amount. I limited the search to show only results that were published after 2010 and that had references available. This brought back 51 results so I decided to check how many of them were full-text. After adding that additional limiter there were only 7 results. A few of these articles looked like they could be of some use, but for the most part, they were pretty irrelevant.

After removing the full-text limiter I scrolled through a few of those articles and there are definitely some that I think will have useful information if I can find the full-text versions. I came across one article that had the subject term “DIGITAL health,” I was curious what kind of results that would produce. After experimenting with the limiters there were quite a few results and definitely some articles that may be worth taking a look at later.

I found this article using my subject term search of HEALTH information technology on EBSCO Host Academic Search Premier.

It cites 26 references and there were only a few that looked useful. For the most part, I don’t think I will be able to use any of these references. I didn’t dive too deep into the details of each one, so it might be worth reading into them a little bit more later.

EBSCO Host found three articles that referenced this one. There was one that really caught my eye and could prove useful to research, the other two were not as helpful.

  1. Two Tips to find full text of useful articles:
    1) Search for the article’s Journals under Books and More. See if another database available through Forsyth might have the full article.
    2) Try ILL: Interlibrary Loan. If another library has the article, they should be able to get it to you in a day or two. Sign up for an ILL account. Have full information on the article. Even if the other library only has a hard copy of the article, a librarian can scan it for you.
