- My initial research idea is the same today, which is in the title. I still have to narrow down the methodology and other specifics, but the subject is the same.
- The question I think I’d like to answer is something along these lines: What types of cyber-attacks are the most popular? Additionally, what impacts are they having both in the short-term and the long-term? I’ve done a light amount of investigating as to the frequency of attacks and the effects in a previous class, but I’d like to delve into it more and possibly draw some conclusions about what to expect in the future.
- I haven’t done any research yet for this class. Like I mentioned before, I’ve already done some in another class, so I have some amount of background knowledge already. I am currently trying to work ahead in other classes so I can focus on this one more toward the end of the semester.
- The three databases I’ve selected that I think would help me research are found using this link: https://fhsuguides.fhsu.edu/az.php?q=computer. I tried searching for specific terms like “cyber-attack,” “security,” etc. but “computer” was the only one that seemed to produce a decent number of results. The databases are named “Computer Source,” “Computer Science Collection,” and “Faulkner’s Advisory for IT Studies.” Each of these databases focuses on the trends and impact of new technology. The methods used to carry out cyber attacks are changing constantly, and the introduction of newer technology can have an impact on that evolution.
