Hi Kayla
Action Research fitting in Education brought elements of literacy with social and political action together with your example from the book about the new third-grade teacher. Action research fitting in the health sciences helped improve where nurses spend their time in a hospital setting. Although I believe there are many emergencies in a hospital setting, getting a priority list for the health professional’s possible downtime could be beneficial. This type of action research survey could be beneficial. Since working in hospitals can be life or death, action research can provide many improvements in the health sciences.

Kayla,
Action research has brought upon great changes within our education system. Input from parents, students and teachers alike have gone to vastly improve our education system in how it fits the individual needs of students. As for healthcare, I saw your example of improvement for nurses being relatable as my Aunt is a healthcare professional and a nurse, they work long hours and often waste substantial time on paperwork. Keep with this topic of less time in paperwork and more time with patients, I like this kind of action research.
I liked the story about the flashcards. It’s great to see teachers adapting to their students needs and coming up with solutions that help them succeed. The results were much better than I would have normally expected for such a small change. Great examples and great video.
