Overall, I do feel that the directions and expectations of the paper were clear, so at this time I have no confusion or questions. Reading through the directions, I did recognize two challenges I will face during this project, though these are more challenges I face in any large project like this and are not specific to this exact assignment.

The first will be the challenge of selecting a topic that I am confident is good enough for this project and will excite me to research. I often have the biggest issues with the first step of any large project as I have real issues deciding where to start and feeling like whatever I decide to go with is quality enough to continue. This first challenge is exacerbated by issue number two, which is my ADHD. Having to review dense readings is difficult for me no matter how interesting I find the topic, so the importance of having a topic that I find interesting cannot be overstated. I will really need to break down this project into smaller chunks in order to be sure that I am able to complete it successfully. Fortunately, based on the Literature Review section under How to Begin, and really the entire How to Begin section, it seems that much of the second half of the semester will focus on having posts as homework that will require me to work on this in chunks on a consistent basis.

Once I feel I am confident in my topic, and have started going through the research, I am excited about learning something new. I imagine that once I have some interesting research to read, my hyper-focus will kick in and I will go down quite the rabbit hole of reading about my topic. I am also excited about the possibilities mentioned in the Literature Review section where it says “…you may be one of the early contributors to that particular area of knowledge.” It is exciting to think that I, or someone else in this class, could potentially be a pioneer in the research of a particular topic. This could provide a number of possibilities to someone that is able to be a pioneer.
One way to ensure the material isn’t too dense is also to pick a general area that you are already familiar with. One reason I like media research is that it doesn’t use a lot of terms I am not yet familiar with.
Assuming you explore web and mobile development here, look for articles that focus on those areas of the profession that you are already familiar with and already know the terminology.
I appreciate the suggestions! After my last post using library resources, I am thinking that my topic will be something involving website accessibility. That goes along with your suggestions of something I am both interested in and is something which I am already familiar.
