Potential Cybersecurity Employers

The four potential employers that I would like to work for are Garmin Ltd., Spirit AeroSystems, Textron Aviation, and Novacoast Inc. These potential employers are innovative and technologically advanced in their fields. There is room for advancement, competitive pay, and good benefits. All four of these companies are growing, continually improving, and changing according to what the market needs.  I have found through my research on cybersecurity that it has great job growth potential. The job market will continue to expand in this field and salaries can easily reach six figures.

This international company started creating new technology like the global positioning system, GPS for aircraft and boats and is now adapted for handheld or wristwatch units. Why I’m Interested

I am interested in Garmin because it offers jobs in Cyber Security and is an International Company. The benefits and salaries are competitive wages to allow their employees to live comfortably. They offer diverse products and have grown substantially because their products are innovative and well built. On their website, they talk about having a simple mission to turn complicated technology into useful products that improve the lives of their customers. Garmin was mandated by the FCC for mobile phone companies in 2004 to offer enhanced 911 service to help dispatchers to locate callers. Garmin employees make a difference in the community by volunteering and donating at local charities like Happiness Kits for Children’s Mercy, Blankets for Heart to Heart, Dinner for Artists Helping the Homeless & boxing supplies for Giving the Basics. Garmin employees are encouraged to have a balance between work-life and offer workout classes, wellness programs, and offer breaks to get out and move around on their facility. I found much of this information on their website, on LinkedIn, and from my friend, Ben who works in cyber security at their Olathe, Ks. location. I tried to find information at Forsyth Library Business Source Premier Database although it was more about who their competitors are, key employees, and their gross profit margins. This information is important although the Olathe Office happenings are more relevant to why I am interested in pursuing a job.

Questions to help me Succeed

  1. This would be my first job in cyber security, how does the company train their new employees? Is it through shadowing or videos?

  3. When learning new coding languages, is it on-the-job training or are there times that are set aside for training?
  4. Are there opportunities for advancement or relocation? If relocated, can you choose where?

One thought on “Potential Cybersecurity Employers

  1. I can really see the passion in this post. Programming have always seemed like a foreign language to me, but I’ve always wanted to know more–especially because the future is almost completely digital and will leave no room for the niche I have in Informatics. The only experience I’ve had was an HTML5 class last semester, which is obviously a different planet compared to cybersecurity. I enjoyed it for what it’s worth, but alas, my brain will always crave a more concrete profession with quicker gratification. I just lack the drive to program for its own sake
