The diffusion of innovations is an interesting subject. I have learned about it in another class and it has really opened my eyes to how new ideas and innovations spread throughout the public.
The year was 2009, my brother and I had just got a new computer that we could use to surf the web, watch videos, and most importantly, play games. Online games were becoming very popular around this time, especially MMO games (Massively Multiplayer Online Game). Of course video games had been around a lot longer, but that was before I was old enough to play them. My brother and I learned about these MMO games through commercials on TV and begged our parents to buy us a monthly subscription so we could play them. MMO video games were definitely a huge innovation for gaming considering how many games still utilize it today.
Today, I still currently play online games with friends or with random people. I see myself in the confirmation/continuation stage of this innovation considering I plan to keep playing online games. As an adopter, I am most likely considered late majority, mainly because of my age from being too young to play these games when they first came out.
An example of another innovation where I have a different take are eBooks. I would say that I was a laggard when it came to this innovation. I had never wanted to read books online because I had always preferred a hard copy. In the last couple years I finally have decided to use some eBooks and realized they are not too bad.
EBooks are great honestly if it is for research purposes. The ability to just hit ctrl + f to find whatever you need is amazing. I usually use amazon kindle for my school book purchases and it works great. I can log into kindle on any device and pick up right where I left off. I feel traditional books are easier on the eyes if you are intending to read for long periods, but I rarely read them anymore unless I have to.
I see many similarities between me and you in regards to gaming , although I do not play as much as I used to growing up, at times when I get the chance to play I play online with friends and family. We usually play Warzone and try to get together when we can. I also see myself in the confirmation/continuation stage of this innovation as even though I get older and have less time to play, I still plan on playing when I get free time and upgrading to new consoles when I have the money. I also consider myself to be in the late majority as I got into gaming when I was very young but I was very limited to what I played and how much I played due to age.

Dalton, In which other class did you cover this theory?
