I am familiar with this topic from a previous class, however I found it to be harder than I though it would be to apply it to my life.
One innovation that came into my life recently was something called virtual verification at work. I’m a part-time pharmacy technician and this new process requires the technician to take a picture of the drug during the production process which is sent to the pharmacist to be verified “virtually”. It does slow down production a bit, but the idea was to take some workload off the pharmacists. I am in the confirmation stage of the adoption process. There was some hesitance at first, but it has become the new normal, at least for our store. This process has not been implemented across the board as of yet. Since it has not been implemented in every store yet, I would say I’m in the early majority adopter category.
Another innovation that I use often is my smart watch. They’ve been around for many years now, though they get better every year. I’ve only owned a smart watch for about 3 years now though, so I would say I’m in the late majority category.
