I learned about a new innovation years ago called virtual college. I was introduced to this innovation from multiple sources. Email advertisements from the internet, social media sites such as Facebook and commercials from TV advertisements. I also had many conversations with college admissions and friends who had chosen this option before I adapted to this innovation. I wouldn’t consider myself and early adopter because I was a bit skeptical on how courses would be developed and taught virtually. Years went by before I accepted the new method of teaching so I would fall under the late majority stage.
I reached the confirmation stage years ago when I first began taking online virtual courses in 2018. I was very impressed with Learning management system and realized that students in the future would account for a good portion of enrollment of colleges and universities in the US and globally Although this may be the reality, I still would categorize myself as a late adapter only because of my skepticism regarding the teaching methods required for virtual learning. I can share my insight about online teaching methods because of my own teaching background as a CompTIA certification instructor. CompTIA certifications are considered computer support training entry level standard certification.
I developed a new teaching innovation a few years while teaching an online computer course so I would fall into the innovator’s category. I discovered that students could learn and apply practical knowledge within 6 months instead of 12 months if I incorporated a live virtual call center that would allow the students to absorb real time technical experiences compared to simply learning book theory. Most vocational schools would adapt to this new method of training if it was cost efficient. I researched several countries that had vast educational opportunities and were bilingual. I discovered two countries with close proximity to the US and were cost efficient. Mexico and Colombia were the final two countries of choice.
