The world has been innovating for as long as humans have been here. I have been very fortunate to grow up in the prime time of technological innovation. As a kid I would play lots of video games, I can only imagine how excited and amazed I was when I got the Xbox 360 and could play online with my friends wirelessly, not having to play split screen with your friends and be able to both play from your own home was just as big as the moon landing for me as a kid.
Cell phones are an innovation that completely changed the way everyone lived. When I got my first cell phone the only games it had on it were snake and solitaire. If you look at what our mobile phones look like today and what they are capable of today it makes those first cell phones that were released look like primitive technology. People growing up today will never have to type using T9.
Another industry that has changed so much due to innovations is the media and press. Social media has completely changed the way we get news and even the way that we communicate. Reasons like this are the reason I believe that I grew up in the most drastic stage of innovation, because every single industry was being impacted very drastically and advancing very quickly. I started with a very old cell phone and I now have these mobile phones that carry our entire life in them, I started a MySpace account when it first came out, and all of the other social media sites that came about very early in their stages as well. Even the social media platforms themselves have DRASTICALLY changed over time with innovation as well. Innovation is truly in every aspect of our lives and I only see it changing even more industries in the future.
