Human Brain filled with digital circuitry to represent a machine learning AI.

Introductory Post: AI in the Classroom

Hello everyone! My name is Cody VanGosen and I am a senior at Fort Hays State University. Currently I am pursuing a bachelor degree in Information Networking and Telecommunications with a concentration of Web and Mobile Application Development. I currently work as a freelance software developer but I am currently interviewing for some more full time employment opportunities.

The last year has proven to be difficult due to some very trying circumstances, but it finally feels like things are on the upswing. I’m looking forward to graduating soon and I’m excited to marry my fiancée this coming August. The coming year has me extremely excited to complete some major steps in my life and family. I am especially looking forward to see how I could possibly combine my prior knowledge of Biology and Chemistry with software development in the future.

Emerging technologies are an aspect of innovation that has always excited me. I always consider myself an early adopter of new and emerging technologies. It’s always interesting to see which new technological solutions end up becoming the next viral craze. One expanding technology that has particularly piqued my interest is the rapid expansion of AI (artificial intelligence) into many different facets of life. One particular research topic that interests me the most is the expansion of AI technologies in primary and secondary school classrooms. This combination of AI management paired with the human element and compassion of a traditional teacher could prove to be a very fruitful expansion of traditional classroom learning. For this reason I feel further research into this topic would prove to be an excellent guiding point for a research proposal centered around the social science approaches within the field of informatics.

  1. Good afternoon Cody. Great post. AI is a very interesting research topic. I look forward to reading your posts as the semester progresses. My name is DK and I’m in your group this semester.

  2. Good evening Cody. AI technology in classrooms is innovative but sometimes technology advancing to fast eliminating the need for human beings thus causing real people to lose the jobs very similar to car plants back in the 1990’s. Hopefully AI technology can also create more jobs for human beings as well.

  3. Hi Cody. I think artificial intelligence will enter several aspects of our lives. We already have applied artificial intelligence on our iPhones in the form of Siri, so this is something we should continue to research so that we may find the best methods to continue implementing AI into the world.
