Weekly Overview:
This week, you’ll have a quiz on Parts 1 through 3 of the current text and a new chapter to read. To help prepare for the quiz, those who had presentations in the previous two weeks will start a conversation about those presentations. Additionally, the subject samplers will create presentations on the new chapter for this week.
The Week’s Learning Objectives:
- Differentiate between sampling techniques and their related terms.
- Increase your understanding of Topics 1 through 3.
Week 3 Learning Tasks
A. Activity Checklist:
- Review Parts 1 – 3 of Patten
- Review and, if you wish, reply to Part 1 -3 presentations
- Read Part 4.
- Lecture Slides Four – Sampling
- If you need more guidance on the interface or some APA Style tips, check out the video I recorded last week with one of your classmates.
B. Assignment Checklist:
- Quiz 1 on Chapters 1 -3
- The group that will present on Sampling has their assignment in Bb and got emails last week.
- Those who presented in week one and week two should reply to at least two group members’ presentations with clarifications, additional information, or questions.
- I hope this portion of the presentation assignment will help you see connections between the various subtopics.
Due: Monday, February 7 at 2 pm Central
Quiz Tips:

- To prepare, be sure to review the textbook and the PowerPoints! Have some easy to reference notes, too.
- You should not expect to do well on the quiz if you are not pretty familiar with all of that material. While the quiz is open-book, it does not provide you with much time to find the answers. Be sure you are ready to answer the questions on your own.
- The quiz will be available one week after it is due. This can help you review your answers and take notes to help you with the mid-term. Once you finish the quiz, you should be able to review each question, whether you got credit for your answer, and what options were available.
- All quizzes are multiple-choice. Only one answer will be the correct answer. Be sure to choose the best possible answer.
