I chose the Health and Medicine subject and then the Nursing & Allied Health Guide. Within the Nursing and Allied Research Guide, I chose the Nursing & Allied Health Database ProQuest. My original search topic was “can cbd oil replace over the counter medications” but this topic was not specific enough in order to find reliable credible research so I changed my research topic to something more specific regarding CBD oil. I conducted my last two searches using the terms” Cannabinoids and Epilepsy”
The search returned 357 results both full text, peer review selected. I decided to limit my search to articles posted within the last five years and it resulted in 217 articles found. I previously used databases outside the realm of the instructions because I thought I would find a bit more relative articles since many databases show articles from 20 years ago. I wanted articles and information within the last 3 years because the FDA recently approved CBD oil for many medical issues particular pain management and epileptic seizures.
Subject search:
Cannabinoids and Epilepsy?
ProQuest was my database of choice for my project because I realized it listed current articles within the three-year time frame I was looking for.
What source, identified with a full APA citation, led you to a subject term to use?

I Looked at the works cited by the authors of my specific title to conduct my backwards citation trace:
What database did you use?
I used ProQuest database which is what I used earlier to conduct my subject search. I searched other databases within the Forsyth Library however ProQuest database found the highest number of searches needed compared to any other databases. In the search everything space I enter my complete title which was “ Cannabinoids and Epilepsy “ and while using ProQuest database I used the journal written by Rosenberg, E. C., Tsien, R. W., Whalley, B. J., & Devinsky, O. This journal had 333 references and was cited by 38 other journals. I also refined my backwards search by adding quotation marks just as I did in my previous subject search, but I ended up with too many related articles. I also changed the range of 10 years to 5 years . I also tried going to collections, e-journals, and searching by title in without quotes in the advanced search bar and found less articles by I was able to find my specific research title topic.
What source, identified with a full APA citation, did you trace? (It must be a different source than the one used in the subject search.)
