I will be doing research to help me better understand the use of artificial intelligence (informatics) in the travel industry. I have found different ways to find the necessary research I need in order to carry out my search and so far it has been really exciting.
MY SEARCH TOPIC:
The use of artificial intelligence and how it has shaped the travel industry.
SUBJECT SEARCH:
I used the database library search for FHSU specifically but I also look up articles on Google as well. For my databases I have used the following: Hospitality And Tourism Collection (Gale), Computer Source, GoogleScholar and ABI/Inform Collection. They have all been very useful in their own way but unfortunately I have found with the Hospitality and Tourism Collection (Gale) that it is harder to get really specific with your searches. You can use boolean terms but if you want multiple searches going it’s almost impossible for anything to show up.
With GoogleScholar I actually found that was one of my favorite databases to use as you can use multiple searches at once and have databases and articles show up.
CITATION TRACE:
I used Computer Source for this one and searched the terms “informatics technology” AND “travel industry” coming up with 3 searches. The article that peaked my interests is called A virtual enterprise based information system architecture for the tourism industry (2012).
Another article I found interesting is Web application for recommending personalized mobile tourist routes (2012).
