For my research proposal, I will be putting together an experiment that looks at the virtual resources middle school math students are using and how they affect their understanding of math concepts. My experiment focuses specifically on students who are exclusive virtual learners and compares them to students who are learning in the classroom. After reading the research proposal guidelines, I am curious about what a research journal entails (How to Begin- Step 2). It sounds pretty straightforward but I would like to see a basic layout of one so I know what I’m expected to produce. I am eager to begin researching my topic to see what other experiments have been done on the benefits and disadvantages of educational technology. I think that it may be challenging to find a lot of relevant material because students leaning solely from home is a new concept. I am also starting to think about the population I will sample from. Using students from the school where I teach will not give me accurate results so I am going to go back to the text to read about ways to open it up to less bias.
