Hello,
For my research project, I would like to find out how each state is tracking who has gotten the virus and who has been vaccinated. There are several different Electronic Medical Record systems out there and most talk to each other if the patient gives consent for medical sharing, however that information is only accessible in that state. There is also a vaccine record system for each state, but is every healthcare facility entering in the results and vaccine information in that specific system.
A couple questions I would like to research and answer are:
1. How are healthcare facilities entering the results of COVID tests?
2. Where can a patient or place find out if a patient/person is vaccinated.
3. If they are going to start making it mandatory for people to be vaccinated before going to certain events, places, planes…. how will they figure out if a person is vaccinated if they don’t carry their record on them.
4. How does each state record their COVID vaccines that are given?
I may not be able to answer all these questions, but I would like to see what I can find out. I am also interested as I have received both vaccinations and would like to see how far and how many people can tell that I have had them.
I find your research topic very interesting. I think everyone is worried about getting the vaccine with all the misinformation that is being spread throughout social media. Of course we all want to go back to our pre-pandemic lives and back to normal. One of the things that I did start to think about once the vaccines were announced is exactly are they going to figure out at airports, restaurants and store if a person has been vaccinated. Wether we have to carry a card with us or some sort of mobile application. I am looking forward to reading your research paper is you do end up doing it over this fascinating topic. Best of luck.
