Background Questions:

What is your name?: Emma Cunningham (or Emma Ware) I just recently got married and am still enrolled as Emma Ware in Fort Hays Graduate School! My new name is Emma Cunningham 🙂

Are you a graduate student?: I am a graduate student! I have a degree in Athletic Training from Kansas State University and am currently working as a Graduate Assistant ATC at Bethel College.

Where are you from?: My home town is Shawnee, Kansas. It is about 20-30 minutes outside of KC, MO. My second home has become Manhattan, Kansas. Go Wildcats! (And now, Go Tigers!)

Why did you enroll in this class?: I enrolled in this class to help me attain a Masters in Public Health. I am extremely interested in the mental health side of Athletic Training, and I hope that this class can help me implement different programs and techniques into my current (and future) clinics.

Have you heard of my class and/or teaching methodology?: I have never heard of Swarm Learning before reading the syllabus, but I am eager to see how it functions! I only recently decided to pursue a Masters in Public Health, so I had not heard of this class until I enrolled.

Expanded Syllabus Questions:

What are your initial thoughts?: I felt a little overwhelmed by the syllabus, but I appreciate you letting us know that we shouldn’t worry! It is always difficult to adapt to a new site to be used in learning, but I appreciate the effectiveness of each of the sites and apps you recommended we sign up for.

What are your expectations of the course?: This is the first graduate level course I have taken, and I am expecting a higher level of difficulty, but a higher level of education as well. This class seems very organized with a new approach to learning, and after the initial fear of entering into a new course, I am less apprehensive and more excited!

Did you sign up for the FHSU Promo Free Plectica Account?: I did sign up for the free version, and I am excited to use this software (especially since it is free)!

Did you sign up for 1-year Tableau Student License?: I have signed up for the 1 year free license, and I am currently waiting for my identity to be verified before being allowed full access.

  1. Congratulations on your marriage! Getting married and getting a graduate degree is a tremendous amount of change in your life!
I noticed that you’re from Shawnee. I have some friends who recently planted a church there called Restore. I’ll have to see where they’re meeting, but I think they’re in a school there.
Good luck in this class and in the rest of your coursework! You can do it!

    1. Christopher, thank you!
There is a lot of change in my life currently, but thankfully it is all good change! I have not been able to go back to Shawnee in some time because of my work, but I hope your friends are settling in well, it is a great town!
You will do great in your coursework as well, you’re almost done!

  2. Congrats, Emma! Great job on your map! I think you will enjoy some of the discussion in the affective domain of health administration. Glad to have you in the course!

  3. Hi Emma! Congrats on getting married, I am engaged right now and will be getting married in about a year. I see this is your first graduate level course, I find these to be much more in depth classes, but in a good way. Not necessarily more work, but I seem to be able to get more out of them.
