Scholarly Practitioner

As I take a look at the word scholarly practitioner, it brings to my mind a lot of characteristics of a dedicated person to their craft or their field of work. An example of this is when I look at Michael Jordan, who is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, a young man name Kobe Bryant began to study Michael Jordan. Kobe began to study everything about Michael Jordan and his basketball moves and other time he became just like Michael Jordan. Even after his retiring Kobe began to continue to work hours upon hours to become better than he was before. Kobe never settled for less even until his last game being past his prime score 60 points in the last game of his basketball career.

This is the type of characteristics of a scholarly practitioner one who is willing to advance themselves in their field through life long learner. A scholarly practitioner is one who through the experience of all sorts, articles, workshops, data, theory, conversation, peer feedback willing to embrace anything that is factual and true about their study to better and better at their study. They have a mind to never stay stagnated or complacent in their field not just settling for, “I have a lot of experience I know it all now”, “I have been doing this for years now”.

Scholarly Practitioners do not take upon these types of mindsets but they push the reset button on learning every second, hour, day, month, and year, because they are always looking for an opportunity to learn to become more advanced in their filed all the time. You want to become a scholarly practitioner in your field of study because with the mindset of a scholarly practitioner you will always advance.
