Your poster has a lot of good information on it. I like that you included the picture of red flags to identify victims of trafficking. You also did a great job of identifying the importance of health care workers being able to identify victims. Nice work!
I feel, even more so after my research, that the red flags at this time are the best indicators we have. There are so many different assessments out there for questions to ask and such with no real information on which was is most efficient and works the best. We all need to keep our eyes open and having the information to keep not only them but us safe so that we can attempt to get them the help they need, when they are ready.
You did a great job with so much information that you could’ve incorporated into this poster as your subject could be so broad. Its a nice and clean slate poster. The theory was enjoyable to me to read as I had never heard of it and felt it did go well with your subject. Good job!
I am by nature a wordy person and so I often have a challenge of trying to get everything I want to say in without being to long winded.. or in this case fitting all the words into the area.
That was a new theory to me as well. I honestly did not have my book that I had used in the past so I started doing some research and as I read through it, it just seemed to click with the topic at hand.
You were able to share a ton of information on your poster. Graphics and captions looked great! My favorite statement on your poster was in your nursing implications area: “as nurses we are on the front lines to be able to identify victims of human trafficking with those in the ED at a higher possibility.” I feel like that one statement was worthy enough to base a whole paper on. Kudos!
I actually partly came up with the idea from a CEU I was doing for my NREMT this year. It was talking about how we as providers (prehospital and in hospital) can interacte with these people and possibly never know. So many times individuals that are being trafficked are not allowed health care until it is at a severe point. This is why I feel that emergency personelle should be educated on the signs and what they can do to help. The other side ot this coin is how to do it safely. AS this is a form of income for someone and they are not likly to let someone just walk away without a bit of a fight. Thank you for your comments
