Hi everyone!  My name is Megan Schelling.  I live in Omaha, Nebraska, with my husband, Steven, and our 4 fur babies.  We have 2 dogs, Kip and Boomer, and 2 cats, Chex and Lexi.  We love to travel!  We actually just returned from the Dominican Republic on March 17th.  It was so much fun! However, we were nervous to get back because of everything that is happening with covid-19.  I have been a nurse for almost 6 years now.  I spent the first 2 years working on a med/surg unit and the last 4 years, I have been working in the ER.  Research plays an important role all throughout healthcare and especially in nursing.  In the ER I work in, we have done some research projects while I have been working there.  We did a study with mint essential oils and the relief of nausea.  It was interesting to see the outcome but we did not see the positive results we wanted to so we pulled the oils from our supplies.  I’m always excited to see what we can come up with as nurses to make things better for both our patients and ourselves.  I will be interested to see what happens with covid-19 research in the following months.
