Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Kachine. I graduated with my Associate Degree from Cloud County Community College last May. I decided while I was still in school mode that I wanted to continue my education.

I’m from a small town in Nebraska called Gilead. I currently work at a critical access hospital approximately 15 miles away from Gilead. At the hospital I work at I work on our med-surg unit, and in our emergency department. I also have worked at a hospital before this with my LPN that worked with behavioral health in elderly.

Research plays an important role in my practice since working at a critical access hospital we are constantly changing. We are wanting to learn new things to help improve our patient care. With research we’re able to compare what we’re currently doing to what we could be doing to help overall patient satisfaction.

I’ve attached a picture of my little family including my boyfriend, Scott and our dog, Scout.

A great thing about working in a small hospital is that you get to wear so many different hats and try different things. I agree with evidence based practice research is so important in providing the best and safest care to our patients. That is awesome that you didn’t take a break after you ADN. Good luck to you this semester.
