Hello everyone! Below is more of the professional viewpoint of my practice and why I LOVE teaching for FHSU in the RN to BSN program.
Now for a couple fun facts about me….
I love running! Running is my favorite. I’m currently attempting to run a half marathon in all 50 states! So far I have Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Washington, Wisconsin, Florida, South Carolina, Missouri, Utah, California, Wyoming, Ohio, Indiana, Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, and Massachusetts complete.
My husband (who is also a RN and FHSU graduate) and I have two girls who are full of awesome! We love traveling together and seeing this beautiful country!
This person is my greatest inspiration, my Dad. His entire job was research (chemical engineering)! From a very young age, he instilled his spirit of inquiry into our daily lives. His passion and support for education and in-depth knowledge of the research process is a major driving force behind who I am, and who I aspire to be.
Now, tell me about YOU!
Hello,
It is a pleasure to meet you (virtually)! Evidence-based practice is such a significant part of what we do, but I will be the first to admit that a lot of what I do is just done out of habit and comfort. I definitely need to take you up on your recommendation of signing up for newsletters related to my specialty.
I used to sprint in high school, but long-distance runners have always had my respect. I look forward to updates in further classes of where you stand on your marathon journey.
Half marathon 🙂 Not a huge fan of the full but I have completed a couple. Unfortunately Virginia was cancelled this past weekend which would have made 25; next is still TBD
Nice to meet you Katie! You are amazing for going on for your doctorate AND raise a family at the same time! I am a mother of two boys and school was much easier twelve years ago before kids. Kudos to you!
Fortunately they are pretty self sufficient. When I finished my Masters they were still little (the youngest was born my last semester) and I spent every night after they went to bed working on school from 8-midnight. I was really tired for a long time!
